This Shiraz et al red blend from Deep Woods Estate’s mid-tier “Estate” range is a wonderfully soft, subtle yet warming red wine from Margaret River.
Winemaker Vintage Notes
“The 2014 harvest in Margaret River continued a run of excellent vintages. The fruit for this not-quite southern Rhône blend was sourced from various mesoclimates throughout the Wallcliffe area of the Margaret River wine region.” Julian Langworthy, Deep Woods Estate head winemaker.
Deep crimson in colour with purple hues, the nose is loaded with primary fruit aromas including bluberries, plums and raspberry pastilles. The wine also has an alluring licorice aroma as well as charming savoury spice notes. The palate exhibits juicy dark plum and sweet red berry flavours, with underlying hints of pepper. Whilst the palate is supported by seasonal French oak, the tannins remain soft, round and very fleshy.
